When we were given the prompt to write about a story that is frequently told in our family, I had a hard time thinking of one that would be interesting, so I went with the first strange story that I've been told. It is not particularly elaborate, but it was fascinating and catchy, so I decided to go with it.
The story ended up not being just about that story, but a way for me to explore a mystery and question that I had in my life. I did not expect to write the story that I did, and I'm currently working on proofreading and editing it to its final stages.
